Is My Social Media Working?
How can you even tell if your social media is working if you are not allowed to sell? For those of us who are born salespeople, this is hard. But first of all let me tell you that no matter what you post, tweet, share like or pin, you are selling. You are always selling.
When you started your business, you branded it (at least you should have), and all your marketing, advertising and selling, as well as social media posts should be branded with your message. So in case I forget to tell you, social posts are part of your company's brand and should be treated as such.
Back to measuring results of social media. When getting started in social media you developed a plan, a calendar of posts and topics, and now that you have been doing it over time, you can look at the traffic.
Let's start with Facebook: Page likes and engagement. The numbers should tell you whether people are liking your page, looking at your posts. You can also see which ones users are looking at and if they are engaging sharing and liking them. If these number are going up, then your plan is good - keep going! If you don't see an increase in the numbers over time, go back to the plan and modify things. Tweak something here and something there until you see positive results. You can review as often as you like, but at least once a month.
Your page insights will also tell you about individual posts. You can see which ones are getting the most interest. Is it the ones with pictures, statistics, quotes from famous people, or general tips?
This will help you to continue to do the ones that get the most interest and discontinue the ones that get the least. Tweaking your posts and monitoring the traffic can really help you improve your social media presence and really reach your target audience.
